I am a fiber artist living in Pelahatchie, MS. I learned to embroider when I was about 10, as part of Friday afternoon “clubs” that I think were meant to give our teachers a break. :o) My very first project was a little needlepoint owl that I still have, and I laugh every time I look at it. I then learned crewel work on all those wonderful 1970s crewel kits my mom would buy for me. I have never stopped stitching, and I have yet to meet an embroidery technique I don’t like.

I am a member of several embroidery guilds through virtual chapters. I am a member of the Greater Memphis Chapter and the CyberStitchers Chapter of the Embroidery Guild of America, the CyberPointers Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild, and the Virtual Threads Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Association of Canada. I treasure the stitching friends I have met through these organizations.

I also knit, quilt, and sew. I am a member of the Brandon Quilters Guild and the Mississippi Quilting Association. I also play the djembe, which is an African hand drum.

I am owned by three cats. The momma showed up pregnant and injured, and I took her in, thinking to find homes for her and her babies at the right time (yeah right). She had three kittens, two of which survived. I got attached, and we are now a family of four.

I support all my various fiber addictions by working as an accountant for the State of Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration. That is an adventure and a story all in itself.
